多倫多,2026年5月3日 —— 多倫多國泰獅子會在慶祝成立50週年之際,完成了一項具意義的里程碑:成功籌集並捐贈超過28,200副全新眼鏡,將送往第三世界有需要的貧困地區,幫助改善當地人士的視力與生活質素。

Toronto, ON — May 3, 2026 — As it marks its 50th anniversary, the Toronto Cathay Lions Club has reached a meaningful milestone: the successful collection and donation of over 28,200 brand-new eyeglasses to underserved communities in developing countries, helping improve vision and quality of life for those in need.
The donation ceremony was held on Sunday, May 3, 2026, at 4:00 PM. The event was kept simple yet meaningful, bringing together club members, volunteers, and community partners to support this initiative.
Club President Michael Cheng, Secretary Dr. Kai Ming Kan, and Co-Chairs Yoon Chin and Mei Ho expressed their sincere appreciation to Fuji Optical for their generous support in sourcing a large number of eyeglasses. Their contribution played an important role in the success of this initiative, helping restore clear vision to those in need.
Members of the Toronto Cathay Lions Club who attended the event included: Michael Cheng, Suk Mei Ho, Kai Ming Kan, Susanna Kan, Yoon Chin, Karyna Cheng, Yan Zhou, David Wong, Dewen Wong, Ada, Janine, Bryan Law, Q Zhang, and Marty Goldgrub.

Following the ceremony, a appreciation certificate presentation and group photo session were held. Among those present were Vinod Karna and Miriam Ku, along with other members of the broader Lions community. The event concluded with a cake-cutting to mark the 50th anniversary of the Toronto Cathay Lions Club.
